“When the going gets tough, the tough get going!”  During this COVID-19 crisis, that phrase has never rung truer.  We have seen significant need arise from the chaos, but we have also seen incredible partners step up to address it.

The JF Maddox Foundation has been intentional about calling our partners regularly and listening to their needs.  We have been looking for ways to plug-in and help.  Through all my phone calls, one organization has been mentioned time and time again, Salvation Army.

The group is providing food to individuals and organizations.  It has provided storage space for supplies.  It has even become the location for a coordinated effort for feeding less-mobile residents in Lea County.  Even when Salvation Army’s supplies began to run low, they did not slow down their assistance and efforts.

The JF Maddox Foundation provided a grant to Salvation Army this week to aid in its food distribution.  They are doing great and necessary work, and we are proud of it all. If you find an opportunity to donate, volunteer, or even thank the Salvation Army, we encourage you to reach out.  It is organizations like this that make us proud to call Lea County home.
