Lea County saw its first COVID-19 case in March of 2020, and unfortunately, our numbers began to climb from there. At one point Lea County had the highest test positivity rate in the state, but change was coming. In December 2020, the first shipment of vaccines arrived in Lea County and Nor-Lea was ready to hit the ground running.

In about two months, the team at Nor-Lea and their incredible community partners vaccinated over 8,000 residents with the first dose and over 3,700 with the booster. Nor-Lea hosts two-vaccination clinics a week:

· Wednesdays 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (by appointment only)

· Thursday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (boosters, by appointment only)

Lea County is in Phase 1B on the vaccination schedule. More information can be found at: www.nor-lea.org/covid

Please take a minute to watch this short video demonstrating the incredible amount of planning and effort it takes to host these vaccination clinics in an efficient and safe manner.
