HOBBS, NM – The JF Maddox Foundation has awarded the Palmer Drug Abuse Program of Hobbs (PDAP) a grant of up to $4.5 million to support the initial construction costs and planning associated with the organization’s new facility. The new building will serve as a dedicated space for hosting 12-step and personal counseling meetings, significantly enhancing the support provided to clients.
The facility will be built at PDAP’s current location on Dalmont Street. Land for the facility was donated to the PDAP by the First Methodist Church of Hobbs.
“The Palmer Drug Abuse Program saved my life. Without its program, I would not be here today. I am especially grateful to their team and am so excited for our future with this new building,” said Toni B., participant in PDAP’s 12-step program. “Now, they will be able to help even more people in our community.”
The grant aligns with the Foundation’s social services commitment to empower partners to provide adequate and impactful services to their clients. David Reed, Chief Operating Officer of the JF Maddox Foundation, said, “By investing in this new facility, the Foundation is not only facilitating access to essential support but also fostering an environment of healing and hope for individuals seeking assistance. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact this new facility will have on the community and the valuable services the Palmer Drug Abuse Program will continue to provide.”
