Board launches CEO search

You will have read of Bob Reid’s plans to retire as CEO of the JF Maddox Foundation by the end of 2020.  Bob has been integral to every grant, every initiative and every hire the foundation has undertaken these past two dozen years, and a future without him at the helm is difficult to contemplate.

The foundation and its staff have never been stronger or more committed to the future of Lea County, and the board of directors  embarks on the search for our next CEO in the sure knowledge that Bob has prepared us well for the compelling work ahead.

The board has appointed a committee to oversee the search process, and we have retained BoardWalk Consulting as our search partner.  Based in Atlanta, BoardWalk is a national firm focused exclusively on the leadership of foundations and the nonprofits they support; their guiding purpose is finding leaders that matter for missions that matter.®  Working closely with the search committee and indeed the full board, BoardWalk is conducting a comprehensive national search to ensure we make the best possible appointment as CEO, whether that person is already active in Lea County or as yet unknown to us.

The CEO Leadership Profile, available here, summarizes the board’s mandate for the next CEO.  As an important part of the search process, we invite inquiries and suggestions from friends of the Foundation.  Should you wish to suggest a prospect for consideration, please contact our search team via the special mailbox set up for that purpose, JFMFCEO@BoardWalkConsulting.com.  All correspondence will be held in strictest confidence.

Respectfully,

Ann Maddox Utterback
Chair, Board of Directors
